Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV), HS2’s construction partner for the region, will host a careers fair at Solihull College and University Centre’s Woodlands campus on Wednesday, 20 July from 10.00 -16.00.
BBV is recruiting for hundreds of jobs in the local area, with opportunities at all levels, from apprenticeships to highly skilled engineering and entry level construction and IT focused-roles.
There are also openings for those without any previous industry experience. BBV offers free training to help applicants progress onto paid work trial so they can discover if a career working on HS2 might be for them.
Julie Venn-Morton, HS2’s Skills Manager for the region said:
“Our West Midlands construction programme is progressing at speed, and we want local people to take advantage of the jobs HS2 is creating in their area.
“Regardless of age, or experience, we’re confident we can help people to develop their skillsets and progress into a promising new career.”
Applications are now open for BBV’s next round of fast-track job training programmes and visitors to the Solihull careers fair can find out more or sign up on the day.
Shilpi Akbar, Balfour Beatty VINCI’s Head of Stakeholder and Communities said:
“HS2 will leave a lasting legacy for communities across the Midlands. As the project’s construction partner for the region, we’re excited to showcase the many employment opportunities that are available right now.
“Our careers fair in Solihull is the perfect place to find out more, including the wide range of roles on offer, which are needed to build Europe’s largest infrastructure project.”
Balfour Beatty VINCI is constructing a 90km section of HS2 from Warwickshire, through to the centre of Birmingham and on to Staffordshire. The vacancies it is recruiting for are all locally-based.
