Veteran pear tree will live on in new woodland created by HS2
20 Oct 2020The veteran pear tree in Warwickshire, named by locals as ‘The Cubbington Pear Tree’ will live on in the form of regrown saplings as part of HS2’s environment programme to support delicately balanced local ecosystems, and create bigger and more joined up habitats along the HS2 route.

HS2 welcomes over 400 apprentices onto the project
14 Oct 2020HS2, Britain’s new high speed railway, has today (Wednesday 14 October) announced that 412 new apprenticeship opportunities have been created on the landmark project. The latest figures come just a month after main construction works on the Birmingham – London phase of the project officially started, spearheading the creation of 22,000 jobs.
