HS2’s first giant tunnelling machines arrive in the UK
08 Dec 2020- HS2’s first two Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) – Florence and Cecilia - have arrived in the UK ahead of their launch early next year
- The two 170m-long TBMs – the largest ever used on a UK rail project - will this week start to be assembled on site ready to begin digging the 10-mile-long Chiltern tunnels
