Over half of the concrete needed for HS2’s West Midlands structures has been poured
07 Nov 2024- One million cubic metres of concrete have been used so far to build HS2 structures across the region
- With 1.9 million cubic metres due to be used in total, the milestone signals that over 50% of the required concrete has been used on the 90km stretch
- The concrete is made from low carbon content as part of HS2’s strategy to reduce carbon in construction
