Construction of HS2’s Old Oak Common station will soon be underway as work to install the first permanent structure starts later today

HS2 has obtained approval for an ambitious scheme which will use material excavated from the Chiltern tunnels to create 127 hectares of new chalk grassland, woodland, wood pasture and wetland habitats around the tunnel’s south portal.

HS2 today opened a new relief road around the village of Chipping Warden in Northamptonshire, allowing construction vehicles – and other through traffic – to avoid the centre of the village and the local primary school.
