HS2 welcomes planning approval for the bridge set to light up the Birmingham skyline
24 May 2023- HS2 has been granted Schedule 17 consent by Birmingham City Council for a 150-metre-long superstructure which will carry high speed trains into the city’s new Curzon Street Station.
- The iconic curved truss bridge will include a vibrant public light artwork as a striking addition to the city’s skyline.

New figures show £13.4m awarded to community projects through HS2 fund since 2017
24 May 2023- 236 local projects have benefitted from a share of £13.4m from HS2’s community fund in the last six years.
- Figures revealed in Groundwork UK’s latest annual report show that over £2m given to 39 projects in the last 12 months.
- In the 12 months since April 2022, six projects in Warwickshire have shared £322,211 in funding.

24 May 2023- 236 local projects have benefitted from a share of £13.4m from HS2’s community fund in the last six years.
- Figures revealed in Groundwork UK’s latest annual report show that over £2m given to 39 projects in the last 12 months.
- In the 12 months since April 2022, seven projects across the West Midlands area have shared £444,131 in funding.
